February 16, 2017 – One of the most celebrated events of the year at Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing, is the Annual Andy Aufschnaiter Memorial Cross Country Ski Race. This year, close to 100 School District 73 Kindergarten to Grade 7 students, assembled on the Blue River cross-country ski trails for the 19th edition of the ski race – sponsored by MWHS and the Blue River Bruderschaft Friends Blue River Society. Mike, Bonnie and a few close friends gathered in Banff at the Mountain Magic bike shop for last minute tune ups and adjustments before hitting the road. February was another phenomenal month of heli-skiing and heli-boarding in the Cariboo and Monashee Mountains in Blue River, BC. At our official remote weather station, total snowfall for the month of February measured 155cm. January 2013 was another fantastic month of heli skiing and heli boarding in the Cariboo and Monashee mountains. Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing guests came from all corners of the globe to experience our famous terrain and resort.
