This past weekend, the Canadian Ski Guide Association hosted a Spring Ski Touring course for Youth. Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing Lead Guides Crosby Johnson and Scott Streadwick guided 8 aspiring ski guides into the backcountry terrain of the Cariboos. The course took place over 4 days and it introduced these guys to the skills of ski touring (or splitboarding) as well as winter camping and survival.     For the first time in it's history, Shreducation is offering a Backcountry Camp at the world-famous Mike Wiegele Heli Skiing in Blue River, BC. The ultimate way to learn essential backcountry safety, skills, and technique in a safe and controlled setting. Campers will spend the week in a snowcat and helicopter with both professional guides and their coaches, exploring the backcountry terrain of the Cariboo and Monashee mountain ranges. Best of January 2013 at Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing

January 2013 was another fantastic month of heli skiing and heli boarding in the Cariboo and Monashee mountains. Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing guests came from all corners of the globe to experience our famous terrain and resort. Snowfall was steady, sunshine made a few appearances, stability was strong, and runs were skied that haven't been seen in many years. Junior Glacier Skills Course – Level 2

Building on more than 20 plus years of adventure, exploration and teaching, the 2nd annual Canadian Ski Guide Association Level 2 Junior Glacier Skills course was held August 27th -30th  in Blue River. Led by Assistant Operations Manager Elias Ortner and by Senior Lead Guide Tim McLean, 4 students where challenged by tall peaks, deep glaciers and inclement weather. Course topics included rock and ice anchors, roped glacier travel, crevasse rescue, navigation and wilderness survival.
